4 young and extremely talented musicians with attributes that will make them the leading personae on the local jazz scene in the not distant future. The jury of the 51st\u00a0edition of the Jazz nad Odr\u0105 festival, led by Lee Konitz, had chosen the\u00a0Vehemence Quartetfrom among 8 bands and awarded them the Grand Prix for\u00a0great sound, frontmen cooperation and solid foundations laid by the rhythmic section.\u00a0True to their name, the band attacks the listeners with an unprecedented fury, passion and precision. The quartet consists of young musicians whose talent for improvisation has been acknowledged by such jazz luminaries, as Randy Brecker, Eddie Henderson, Janusz Muniak, and Piotr Wojtasik who had invited them into cooperation. Each of the musicians has won awards at international competitions:\u00a0Mateusz \u015aliwa\u00a0at Jazz Hoeilaart in Belgium,\u00a0Alan Wykpisz\u00a0at 2012 Bass Copenhagen, and\u00a0Wojciech Lichta\u0144skiand\u00a0Szymon Madej\u00a0are Bielska Zadymka Grand Prix laureates. Last year they have released their d\u00e9but album titled\u00a0Anomalia,\u00a0recorded for the ForTune label.<\/p>\n
This year, they will perform a concert at the opening of our festival with\u00a0Leszek Mo\u017cd\u017cer\u00a0joining them on stage as special guest.<\/p>\n
