Leszek Możdżer and Jerzy Jarocki awarded

Outstanding Polish artists – pianist and jazz composer Leszek Możdżer and theatre director Jerzy Jarocki have received the Grand Prize of the Culture Foundation yesterday in Warsaw. The award, given to artists who hadplayed an exceptional part in Polish culture during the previous year, has been given for the 13th time.

The jury handed it to Jarocki for “a wonderful comeback and for proving that the catharsis in theatre does exist”. Leszek Możdżer was appreciated for skilfully combining “being a virtuoso and making musical experiments in the same time”.
